Desert Springs

California Travel – Adventure Nature Tours : Schedule for Day 8-13

Experience the solitude, expansiveness and beauty of the California deserts in springtime.

The second half of our California nature tour takes you from the heart of Death Valley past the Eastern Sierras, then through the lush Kern River valley on to the metropolis of Los Angeles. Take a hike up the smooth wash of mosaic canyon and admire the polished marble that make up the ground and walls. Experience the desolation of Rhyolite, a Death Valley ghost town. Picnic at the base of Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the continental United States. Then relax on the banks of the Kern River as you enjoy the early springtime atmosphere at this higher elevation. From there this adventure tour heads through the heart of California agricultural country back towards Los Angeles, approaching the end of your exciting two week tour. As in the first half of the tour you can expect a wide variety of activities, short hikes and nature walks, a couple of museums and visitor centers, comfortable hotels and unique small group adventures adjusted to the interest of each and every individual group.
